April Purchases

I was a big fat liar last month; I forgot to report a couple of dresses I bought from Express in March. I will come clean this month - and also showcase the newest additions to my “sensible shoes” collection.

Express

J’s Everyday Fashion gets a lot of GOMI hate, but this dress got some love. I liked it enough to order it in gray and black.

1. Long sleeve zipper back trapeze dress in gray and black, $25.41 x 2 = $50.82.

Target

Obviously, I need to stop reading fashion blogs, because the Budget Babe made me buy this shirt.

2. Mossimo lyocell shirt, $22.99

Nordstrom

The sensible shoes:

3. Isaac Mizrahi New York “Gillie” tassel loafer in red, $119.95.
4. Halogen “Lauer” loafer in turquoise, $99.95.

April total: $293.71.

Total spending for the year: $846.91

Remaining 2015 budget: $953.09.

That leaves me with only $119 per month for the rest of the year. I am going to shop more at thrift and consignment stores to stretch my dollars.

P.S. This is the 3000th post on What I Wore 2Day!

Sunshine Stairs

Back to the sunshine stairs! The real sunshine was too bright.

Dress, Banana Republic (consignment). Vest, AC-3998 (cut from a thrifted dress). Shoes, Isaac Mizrahi. Sunglasses, Target. Earrings, Jack E Oh’s NYC. Cuff and rings, vintage, thrifted, and/or heirloom.

Between the end of my sales calls and the start of swim practice, I had time to visit a thrift store. I could have spent hours in the books, which were entirely uncategorized, except for the large collection of Reader’s Digest Condensed Books:

Lift and Shout

I wore this outfit because I knew I had to deliver a large display to a customer. I chose a jersey dress to stretch with me as I lifted the display out of my car, a longer length skirt to keep me covered as I bent over, flat shoes to make carrying the extra weight bearable, and a jacket to cover the excessive boobage revealed by the wrap dress V. It turns out that I WAY overthought things. The display, while large and bulky, turned out to be very light and easily dragged. The whole delivery process took two minutes or less. I probably could have done it in a pencil skirt and heels.

Jacket, Mossimo. Dress, Merona (shortened). Boots, Madden Girl. Sunglasses, Meow Meow. Earrings, vintage. Bracelets, consignment and Tala’s Distant Treasures. Bag, Melie Bianco.

For once, though, my outfit was comfortable enough to wear past the end of the workday, to Toastmasters, where I gave the educational spotlight on Power Poses:

Go Team!

I had the pleasure of spending the day with my team. We’re spread all over northern California, so we don’t get together often.

Jacket, vintage. Dress, Cut 25 (consignment). Shoes, BCBGeneration. Earrings, vintage. Sunglasses, Target. Bag, Melie Bianco.

Aren’t we a good looking bunch?

That was today’s 365. Here are the photos from Saturday and Sunday:
